On Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 11 hours, The Institute for Chemistry of UnASM has hosted a scientific seminar conducted within the SCOPES international project with the topic of “Radical mediated modifications of natural products”.

The moderator of the session was dr. Veaceslav KULCITKI (ASM). As part of the seminar, the public lecture From Radical Reactions to Natural Product Synthesis was presented by prof. Philippe RENAUD, Berna University, Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the Swiss coordinator of the project. The goal of the research presented was to find methods and strategies that can be applied for the efficient synthesis of various classes of products that have an interesting biological profile. The goal of the project is to increase the efficiency of synthesis of target molecule by discovering new way of synthesis, as well as using environmentally friendly reagents.
The event was attended by undergraduate students and master’s degree students under the Department of Physics and Chemistry of UnASM, also researchers and PhD students who work in the area of organic chemistry, chemistry and bio-chemistry of natural compounds.
