The National Contest “The Best Innovative Pupil”, eighth edition

The most talented pupils from Moldova attended the May 23, 2015 on the eighth edition of the National Contest "Best Innovative Pupil" which has already become a tradition, that is addressed to all the pupils of schools and high schools in the country. This year the competition and the event of nomination of winners was organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer ASM (AITT), the State Agency for Intellectual Property (SAIP), Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova (ME ), Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova (MAFI), University of Academy of Sciences of Moldova (UnASM) and Lyceum of Academy of Sciences and took place at the Central Scientific Library "Andrei Lupan" of the Academy of Sciences. The competition involves 40 educational institutions in the country have registered 105 competitors and 120 works have been exhibited. In the first, participants were greeted by a bunny who was the mascot of the event and created good humor to competitors. The event was opened by Roman CHIRCA, general manager of AITT; Acad. Gheorghe Duca, President ASM; c.m. Vladimir HOTINEANU, Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Education, Research, Youth, Sports and Mass Media; dr. Lilia BOLOCAN Director SAIP; Acad. Maria Duca, rector of UnASM; Angela PRISACARI, representative of ME and Svetlana SCARLAT, represented the MAIA who welcomed and wished success to all the participants and emphasize the importance of  young generation in the country's development.

ASM President expressed his happiness  that the current edition registered a record participation, which shows that young people's interest innovations increase from year to year, meaning that our country has a future, a secure future. Academy of Sciences, who initiated this competition promotes scientific community in our country already for years, and constantly intensively developing a knowledge-based society. “We organize this competition for you to love more and more knowledge, to do something new, good and necessary to get better our country. You are the hope (expectation) of tomorrow, you are our future”, said academician to pupils, encouraging them to participate more actively next editions.
The winners chosen by the assessment made by the Evaluation Committee and Jury have received gifts and money prizes.
On the first place was ranked Serghei ADAMOV, XIIth form, High School “Gheorghe Asachi”, Ungheni, for work “Turning plastic into liquid oil.”
  Second place went to two competitors - Elena Rusu, High School "Vasile Alecsandri", Ungheni and Victor LOZOVANU, High School "Petru Zadnipru", Chisinau.
Third place was shared by three challengers - Valentin SURUCEANU, High School “Ginta Latina”, Chisinau; Stephen KURTEV, High School “D. Cantemir” , Chisinau; Timur MITIOGLO, High School "Mihai Eminescu" Gagauzia.
  The prize for popularity, first proposed, was given to pupils Alexandru SIRBU and Alexandru CIUVAGA Soroca.

The winners received prizes price, cash prizes and diplomas. Also special awards for creativity, originality, innovative capacity etc. benefited the most active participants in the innovative school of educational system: the most active disticts and most active districts schools / lyceums. The most active Ialoveni district was declared, in particular Gymnasium “Grigore Vieru”. The most active by number of proposed exhibits - High School "Vasile Alecsandri" Or. Ungheni and high school with most exhibits creativity - Lyceum "Stefan cel Mare" in s. Taraclia.
